Disciplinary & Grievance Advice

All employers need to have robust policies in place to deal with disciplinary and grievance issues.

All too often we see employers who have no such policies in place, do not follow them or have policies that are outdated and unworkable.

We regularly draft these types of policies for employers as well as comprehensive staff handbooks.

We also assist individual clients who may have been called to a disciplinary or capability hearing or they may wish to raise a grievance against their employer, by this we mean a formal complaint.

Even where the employer has a grievance policy in place, sometimes these are not followed or the individual does not know what rights they have to raise a complaint and often will be understandably concerned about the effect it may have on their future employment within the business.

We adopt a practical approach and our advice can vary from advice on the telephone or by email, to a face-to-face appointment where we discuss matters in far more detail.

We will support you through this difficult time and advise you about the rights you have as an employee and the obligations you have as an employer, as well as taking a pragmatic approach throughout, listening to your wishes and your stated aims and doing our best to help you to achieve those, all in a cost-effective and professional manner.
