We are pleased to announce that we have an exciting opportunity for a 1st Line IT Support Assistant to join the firm, supporting all of our Offices across Cheshire and North Shropshire.

This role will be office-based in Nantwich and is Part-time (3 days per week).  Working closely with our IT Manager, the 1st Line IT Support Assistant will work across all of our departments to support the business IT infrastructure and software systems, which involves project work, day-to-day maintenance and support queries from the Firm.

The successful candidate will have a working knowledge of Microsoft packages, including Windows operating systems, Office, and desktop hardware. They successful candidate will be proactive, with a strong team-player ethic. They will need to have strong communication skills, detail-oriented and with excellent problem-solving skills and a desire to learn.

At least 12 months experience working within a similar position is essential.

Key Responsibilities:-

  • Answering incoming IT support queries via telephone and email.
  • Ensuring that all support calls and queries are dealt with in an efficient manner.
  • Assist with installation and configuration of new equipment installing PC’s, Laptops and Software
  • Troubleshooting, testing and repairing items that come in for repair.
  • Password resets
  • Preparing disposed items for destruction.
  • Support users on internal legal case management software.
  • Assist in the deployment of Windows 11 Pro OS.
  • Assist in educating users with Cyber Security

Essential Requirements

  • A driving license with access to your own car is required for this role.
  • Happy with manually moving equipment.
  • A grade 4/C at GCSE in English and Maths is required for this role.
  • Windows 10 and 11 Pro Operating systems experience
  • Excellent Customer Service
  • A Willingness to learn.
  • Adaptability
  • A basic understanding of Microsoft 365 Technologies
  • A basic understanding of TCP / IP and DNS
  • A basic understanding of Active Directory/Group Policy and Microsoft Hyper-V Server would be advantageous.
  • Experience of Installing and configuring security updates.
