The Role

Hibberts LLP are excited to announce that they are expanding their Children/ Care department and an opportunity arises for a Public Children Law Solicitor/Legal Executive to join them.

The position will be based at our Crewe office, with the possibility of hybrid working.

In this role you will work collaboratively with an experienced team and handle a range of public children matters involving local authorities. Dependent on experience you will also perform your own advocacy.

The Successful Candidate

  • The successful candidate will have experience in working in a Care Department or in Family Law and have experience with the Public Funding system (Legal Aid).
  • In this role, you will run a varied and interesting caseload consisting of pre-proceedings, applications for emergency protection orders, care or supervision orders and placement orders and discharge of care orders.
  • You will be able to manage your own case load, whilst demonstrating exceptional time management and organisational skills as well as being able to work autonomously and effectively. You will be client-focussed in your approach, effective and confident in your communication with colleagues and clients alike.
  • Will ideally have 3 years PQE as a Public Children Law Solicitor or Legal Executive
  • Will already be on the Law Society’s Accredited Children Panel or are interested in working towards accreditation.
  • Will have excellent communication skills in communicating with Clients, Local Authorities, other professionals and colleagues.
Hours & Salary
  • Working Hours: Monday-Friday, 36.25 hours
  • Holidays: 33 days inclusive of bank holidays and Christmas Firm Closure.
  • Salary: Competitive (negotiable and dependent on experience & qualifications)
  • Location: Crewe, Cheshire.
