The Role
Hibberts LLP is excited to announce an Autumn 2024 Qualifying Solicitor Programme (QSP) for Trainee Solicitors. This 2-year Training Contract is an exciting opportunity for aspiring solicitors to kickstart their career within our highly reputable, multi-service law firm.
Here at Hibberts, we operate a somewhat traditional approach to training contracts where you will work across a range of practice areas and assist with client caseloads. You will experience four six-month “seats” across different departments in the firm giving you a rich learning experience and development opportunities.
You will have the opportunity to enrich your understanding of Law and develop your practical skills, processes and practices. As a Trainee Solicitor, you can expect to support and assist in the drafting of agreements and applications; participate in client meetings; perform legal research; draft correspondence, legal statements and other legal documentation; participate in team meetings and contribute to the development of our business. You will also have a learning and development plan, in line with the SRA Practice Skills Standards.
The Successful Candidate
While the SRA no longer requires aspiring solicitors to complete a law degree to be able to qualify, here at Hibberts LLP we still require all future trainees to either complete a law degree or the Postgraduate Diploma in Law (PGDL). The successful candidate must have completed either:-
The Legal Practice Course (“LPC”) (or Master of Law and Practice – which incorporates the LPC)
Or
Part 1 of the Solicitors Qualification Examinations (“SQE”)
