Hibberts Solicitors Charity Quiz Raising Money for The Christie Charity

Charity Quiz at The Crown Nantwich in aid of The Christie Charity

The Hibberts Solicitors charity quiz most definitely put the ‘fun’ in ‘fundraising’ last week at the Crown Hotel in the centre of Nantwich. We raised a total of £1500 from ticket sales and the raffle in aid of The Christie Charity. 

There were 16 teams in total with a maximum of 6 people in each team. The quiz was extremely competitive, but in a friendly way of course! The winning team scored a very respectable 88 out of 120, and clearly demonstrated their all-round knowledge and general quiz expertise.

The Nantwich Christie Hospital Support Group was set up in 1993 by Sarah Darlington (of Mrs Darlington’s fame) following the treatment of her dad at The Christie in Manchester. The group raise funds through events and corporate support, such as the Hibberts charity quiz. So far they have raised a total of over £480,000 for a variety of research projects at the hospital.

Tara Crisp, partner at Hibberts organised the event and comments, “We wanted to find a fun way of raising funds to support The Christie Charity and we thought a quiz would be an enjoyable way of spending the evening in aid of a fantastic cause. We were overwhelmed by the amount of support we received, especially from our local businesses who sponsored some amazing raffle prizes! We are delighted to have raised £1500! We are keen to support local charities and we have chosen The Nantwich Christie Hospital Support Group due to the excellent work the small committee of volunteers do in raising funds for The Christie. We are delighted to have also chosen them as our charity of the year for 2022 and the money raised is much-needed.“
