As we head towards the end of the year, we thought we’d reflect on 2022 with a round-up of some of our activity within our community.
Supporting Local Schools
What a great day we had with Brine Leas School in June. We did two talks on different routes to becoming a lawyer. Our two Trainee Solicitors, Rowena Buckley and Thomas Jones, also presented to students on their journeys to becoming a trainee. Well done to everyone involved!
In October, we had a busy couple of weeks supporting The Cheshire & Warrington Pledge and Ellesmere College with their Careers Fairs. We talked to many young people about careers in law and the pathways they can take. Well done to Tom Jones and Michael Ward for representing us!
In June, we had a brilliant community evening at The Crown Hotel, Bar & Grill where we hosted a quiz raising money for The Christie Charity. A wonderful array of sponsors supported the evening with raffle prizes, including Dorfold Hall, Mrs Darlington’s, Rookery Hall Hotel & Spa, Minshull’s, Three Wrens Gin, The Crown Hotel, Bar & Grill, Audlem Special Events Team (ASET), Everybody Health & Leisure and The Nantwich Show. We raised an incredible £1500!
In October, we continued our long-term community support for St Luke’s Cheshire Hospice for Wills Week. Clients donated to the charity instead of paying our fees. Wills Week is something we have supported for a number of years.
We also announced in October that we’re supporting the Nantwich Christie Hospital Support Group black tie ball as a Pearl Sponsor to celebrate 30 years of fundraising for The Christie NHS Foundation Trust. The ball is on 24th June 2023 at Wrenbury Hall, but unfortunately, tickets are sold-out. We’re looking forward to hosting our table and hope that lots of money is raised for such a wonderful cause from both the ticket sales and the Grand Raffle. We’re also looking forward to music from Cherry Valentine and The Bees Knees!
We also had a ‘spooktacular’ coffee morning raising money for Macmillan Cancer Support, with our teams in Crewe and Nantwich donating delicious cakes!
Our latest community charity support is for North Staffs Mind with their Christmas prize draw.
And finally, the Alpha Omega Women Peace and Security Foundation is local charity based in Crewe, which we are also supporting.
In the middle of one of our summer heatwaves, we had a fantastic day at the Royal Cheshire County Show in June, working alongside Carter Jonas. We couldn’t have picked a better day for the weather, with John Gibbons and Oliver Lewis bravely manning the stand in the heat!
The following month we also had a great day at The Nantwich Show. We saw some familiar faces and some new ones too. We were also very excited to win 1st place in the Professional stands class!
In October, we were delighted to support the Everybody Leisure Awards. Congratulations to everyone on the shortlists and the eventual winners.
This year we continued our sponsorship of the Business of the Year (under 25 employees) category at South Cheshire Chamber of Commerce and Industry 25th Annual Awards at Reaseheath College. Congratulations to all of the winners, but especially Qualkem, who won the category we sponsored!
Our Agri team – John Gibbons and Tom Jones – attended the Barbers Auctions, MarketDrayton Christmas Show & Sale, where we sponsored the Christmas Primestock Show and Sale section.
Earlier in the year, eight of the Hibberts team received Managing Mental Health in the Workplace training delivered by North Staffs Mind. It was a informative session covering Mental Health awareness, the three common Mental Health conditions, recognition and support. It’s so important to manage both physical and mental health!
We finished the year off and started the festive season with a wonderful wreath making workshop with Hedge Rows Wreaths and Flowers. We think everyone did an amazing job, and they look fabulous!
We’ve had a busy year, and the Hibberts Team would like to sign off by wishing all of our clients a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.
